Ch-ch-changes

A lot has happened over the past few weeks. My baby had her first birthday. I didn't have too much time to dwell on this because:

I'm moving to Austin.

We got our house ready and put it on the market just before Memorial Day weekend. This included a garage sale, clearing out a bunch of stuff and donating it to Goodwill, emptying and painting a couple of rooms. You can see the pictures on my flickr page. Now I need to pack.

I found a daycare for Zoe. I haven't toured it yet, though, and that makes me nervous. I'm on the waiting lists of others that have been recommended to me.

We drove to Midland for the holiday.

I think I broke my toe yesterday. It's bruised and swollen and hurts like hell when I put any weight on it.

I'm getting a tattoo after work.

Our XBox broke earlier today.

I'm not sure what else has happened but the past few weeks have been a blur. Zoe and I will be going to Austin the weekend of June 6. Nate will be following with the pets once the house sells and/or things are a little more settled in that area. Wish us luck.

Was it mandatory to have the tattoo before moving to Austin? : )

I am sorry to see you guys go, but I know you will be happier, and I do freely admit that if you like living in Texas... you might as well do that living in Austin.

Dallas is a lost cause for me in many ways. I am only here because I got rooted. : ) Not that I'm not happy, just that I do still hope we get to end up someplace cooler (in climate and culture) someday. But every time I have that daydream I always start it with "first we will have to be really rich so we can come back and see our friends all the time".

So it may take a while. heh.

Sorry about your toe!

Sorry about your Xbox!

Happy Birthday Zoe!

Whew! that was a really condensed post!

Hopefully we will get to come down to see you at some point, Good Luck with the new jorb, from what I have heard about it, it sounds like it is something that you can take some pride in doing. : ) gotta love that!

Doc.

You know, the tattoo was sort of to "mark" becoming a mother and having Zoe, so in a way, it was important to do it here in Dallas where she was born.

We will miss you and Katy a ton. It's been nice having such cool people to hang around.

And I did pack an awful lot into one post. I'm hoping that things might calm down here in a couple of days so I can write a bit more instead of the condensed version.

We would love to have you! Once we get settled the welcome mat is out!

WOW! Holy cow do we need to catch up- a lot can happen in 3 weeks, huh?

I'll be back in MA next week; I hope I'll bump into you online, or maybe even by phone, sometime soon, either before you go or after you get settled.

Back to Austin!!! Man, I'm so happy for you!!!

Thats very cool about the tattoo, Zoe, motherhood and all... I love stuff like that.

However I was asking if perhaps you needed it to meet some minimum body art requirement to be allowed back into Austin though. hehe.

They haven't made it a residency requirement ... yet. ;)
