Vote Early and Often
I still get emails from my old school and MFA program. The latest one I got cracked me up because it said, "In the Chicago tradition, VOTE EARLY & OFTEN!" You've got to love a city that embraces its reputation for corruption.
But this is actually for a great cause. American Express is donating $1 million dollars to one of 25 landmarks in Chicago for preservation. And while there are many worthy contenders, the Roger Brown Study Collection is near and dear to my heart. Roger Brown was an artist who attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He later donated his home and his private collection to the school. Students still hold exhibitions and readings in this space, and his collection is really incredible. It's a great peak into the mind of an artist, to see where he lived and worked and what he collected.
It's really easy to vote, early and often, if you're so inclined.
